Cancellation & Refunds

If You Cancel

The exact refund schedule depends on the tour, the season and the suppliers booked for you, so it is set out in full in your written confirmation — which you receive, and can decline, before you pay anything. We will not ask you for a deposit until you have those terms in writing.

As a general rule, the earlier you tell us, the more is refundable: cancelling months ahead usually costs little beyond what has already been paid out on your behalf, while cancelling close to departure recovers little, because rooms, vehicles and guides have been reserved and paid for.

Send your cancellation in writing to contact@tarboushmoroccotours.com. The refund is calculated from the date we receive it, and paid to the account you paid from, within 14 days of us confirming the cancellation. Bank transfer and currency conversion charges are deducted, as we never receive them.

Costs We Cannot Recover

Some elements of a private tour are paid to third parties long before departure and are non-refundable to us — a hot air balloon slot, a Toubkal permit and mountain refuge, a domestic flight, or a peak-season riad booked under its own strict terms. Where such a cost applies to your tour, we tell you in writing before you pay, and we deduct only what we can evidence.

If You Move Your Dates

A change of dates requested more than 30 days before departure is free of charge, once per booking, subject to availability. You pay only the difference if the new dates fall in a more expensive season. Later than 30 days, or a second change, is treated as a cancellation and a new booking.

If We Cancel

If we cancel for any reason within our control, you choose between a full refund of everything you paid us, including the deposit, or an alternative tour of equivalent standard at no extra cost. We will also cover documented, non-refundable costs you incurred in direct reliance on the booking, up to the total price of the tour.

If we cancel for reasons outside anyone’s control — described below — you are refunded everything except costs already irrecoverably paid to third parties on your behalf, which we will evidence.

Events Outside Our Control

Neither of us is liable for failing to perform because of something neither could reasonably control: war, civil unrest, terrorism, an epidemic or a government restriction, a natural disaster, extreme weather closing a mountain pass or a desert road, a strike, or the failure of a border or airport.

Where such an event stops a tour that has already begun, we will get you to a safe place and do what we reasonably can to complete the itinerary. Costs that neither of us caused — an extra hotel night, a rerouted transfer — are yours, which is one of several reasons we require travel insurance.

Unused Services

We cannot refund any part of the tour you choose not to use — a meal, an excursion, a night’s accommodation — or time lost because you arrive late or leave early.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking. Most of what this page cannot refund — illness, a missed connection, a family emergency, a cancelled flight — is exactly what a policy with cancellation cover is for. Buy it when you pay your deposit, not before departure.

If Something Goes Wrong During the Tour

Tell your guide or driver at the time. Almost everything can be fixed on the spot, and problems we only hear about weeks later are much harder to put right. If it is not resolved, write to us within 28 days of returning and we will reply within 30 days.

How This Fits Together

This page forms part of our terms of service. Where your written booking confirmation states different terms for a specific tour, the booking confirmation prevails, and we will point out the difference before you pay.
